The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), Phantom Works division is seeking an Experienced Manufacturing Engineer (Composite Fabrication) – Phantom Works to join our team in Berkeley, MO.
Position Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement production and tooling methodologies
- Participate on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to integrate technical solutions across multiple disciplines
- Develop, identify and implement conceptual designs and maintains the program architecture for build. Leads and implements manufacturing plans
- Conduct producibility and variation analyses to ensure that manufacturing process capability matches requirements
- Assist in providing producibility information for inclusion in project plans and helps document producibility best practices
- Analyze design/build concepts to evaluate producible design/build definitions
- Resolve technical problems of significant impact to performance, cost or schedule
- Coordinate and implement new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies and concepts
- Validate and ensure production readiness of solutions to complex problems
- Implement lean principles and technologies
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- 5+ years engineering experience with a Bachelor’s OR 3+ years with a Masters OR PhD related work experience (e.g. composite fabrication experience in aerospace, automotive or similar industry)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience with aerospace new product development and prototyping
- Experience conducting manufacturing engineering tasks using any of the following: Work Instructions (WI), Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Model Based Definition, Model Based Instructions processes and procedure
- Experience with NX/Unigraphics CAD and Teamcenter PDM systems for design interrogation, manufacturing planning development and tooling design review
- Experience implementing lean principles
- 5+ years’ experience in planning and developing product quality by applying APQP and PFMEA
- Experience leading and collaborating within a multi-disciplinary engineering environment
- Ability to collaborate with both the engineering work force and the mechanics on the factory floor
- 5+ years’ experience in engineering design or manufacturing engineering
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range: $90,100 – $121,900
