Program Summary
KBR is searching for an Electrical Engineer to study, design, prepare specifications, and perform services related to electrical and electronic systems employed on USAF Fighter/Mobility aircraft and missile systems, subsystems and components to include the associated support equipment, test stands, maintenance, repair, and diagnostic equipment.
Job Summary
Tasks include performing design review, reverse engineering, analysis using benchtop equipment and/or various software suites such as OrCAD Capture, NI Multisim, and others. Position requires the ability to develop test plans and procedures for data collection and analysis to certify designs and prototypes to applicable standards to include Military Specifications related to air worthiness qualification.
Roles and Responsibilities
Plans, schedules, and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. Performs work which involves conventional engineering practice but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, and difficult integration requirements. Must be capable of preparing subcontractor work requirements, as well as providing oversight of subcontractor performance and integrating work from multiple subcontractors.
Requires sufficient professional experience to assure competence as a fully trained professional. Work requires a broad knowledge of precedents. Also, may be responsible for mentoring less experienced engineers and providing leadership for a functional area on a small project or segment.
This position will require up to 25% travel.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited University
- Minimum of 4 years related experience, with average experience ranging from 6-10 years.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited University
- Proficient in the use of Air Force or civilian technical manuals, policies, regulations, and AS 9100 standards
- Experience with aircraft avionic system design, and maintenance practices
- Experience with electrical circuit board and component manufacturing and assembly
- Expert with electrical analysis and design tools
- Practical experience with aircraft electrical system trouble shooting and maintenance practices
- Experience with electrical wiring integrity/reliability programs
- Experience in the coordination and oversight of subcontractor work
- Working in a team environment and possessing good communication skills, both written and oral
- Compiling and preparing technical reports
- Proficient with MS Office
