Job Description
This role will be based in New York.
At LinkedIn, our approach to flexible work is centered on trust and optimized for culture, connection, clarity, and the evolving needs of our business. The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.
Our newly formed Content Development team is a key pillar in our Product org, whose focus is to build products and services that help our members be more productive and successful. Our goal is to ensure our Members discover the right news, acquire the requisite skills & knowledge and engage in productive communities.
This role will be a critical part of the team who identifies and launches new and innovative ways to help professionals discover and consume the right content. By combining the information members provide us with the growing ecosystem of content providers on our platform, we’re in the best position to deliver the right content to the right member at the right time.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively identify and evaluate new opportunities for LinkedIn, and how we can develop partner programs to accelerate/scale.
- Gather and share ecosystem insights and competitive analysis to inform program strategy.
- Stay up to date on trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to inform product strategy and identify opportunities to drive increased value for content partners.
- Synthesize deal concepts into term sheets and contracts, work closely with legal to draft agreements for partnerships and/or programs.
- Drive program development through collaboration with cross-functional teams, including product, legal, marketing, and sales, to deliver on strategy.
- Track progress of existing partnerships, provide frequent written and verbal updates, and implement tracking and reporting for partner metrics.
- Make decisions (or present a recommendation) to drive highly complex projects while overcoming challenges of managing multiple cross-functional stakeholders.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of work experience in a business development or strategy role.
- Experience in business development or partnerships focused roles in the technology, digital publishing and content industry, experience with platform or product partnerships.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA degree is highly preferred.
- Personal interest in the news/media space.
- Understanding of the broader tech and media landscape from content .licensing/development to social/audience development as well as business models including subscription bundles and advertising.
- Highly accountable, proactive and solution-oriented; as comfortable working on zero-to-one initiatives as well as scaled programs.
- Experience with deal development - ability to understand legal contracts and negotiate deals with partners. Negotiation skills and experience working with Legal and cross-functional teams to finalize partnership agreements.
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally and building consensus among multiple stakeholders.
- Proven track record of developing and executing strategies, programs, and partnerships that deliver value to partners.
- Strong written and verbal communication, able to talk internally and externally about the value you’re driving through programs and partnerships.
- Strong financial analysis, modeling, and business skills. Ability to leverage data analysis and insights to develop compelling business cases.
- Experience in project management, with a proven ability to bring structure and organization to new or existing complex projects.
- Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize tasks, and work within deadlines with little supervision.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment.
- Expert knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
The pay range for this role is $166,000 to $270,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
