The Art Director is responsible for developing original creative concepts and approaches, overseeing multiple projects/shoots through execution across media channels, specializing in all things retail. The primary purpose of this role is to lead/direct internal and external production teams/agencies and collaborate with marketing strategy and channel leaders to execute video, photo, CGI and content creation in both short and long forms. Must have a strong creative eye with experience art directing commercial and/or photography/video sets. Will champion our goal to transform our In-House Studio Services into a center of excellence to engage, inspire and build confidence in home improvement every day to create lifelong love for our brand.
What you will do
Responsible for upholding the established brand standards across all product categories and within
creative direction as provided by the private brands team
Works closely with private brand stakeholders to develop concepts & strategies for photo studio execution.
Understands the private brands product categories, key competitors, and possesses the ability to provide creative photography solutions across omni channel media that will resonate with the consumer and facilitate the buying process.
Builds and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external teams (e.g., brand management, packaging designers, product development merchants, product vendors & content studio staff)
Collaborates with key stakeholders to comprehend product features and category requirements.
Partners with producers to hire production companies, photographers, film/videographers, etc.
Partners with photographers, stylists, and set builders to execute creative vision, directing as needed.
Understands, anticipates, and defines project plans for executing within timeline and product sample constraints, including setting priorities and meeting deadlines
Presents ideas and concepts with strategy and rationale to leadership and key stakeholders and incorporates feedback when needed
Generates conceptual ideas that will be executed at a high level of quality, quickly and cost effectively.
Stays up to date with industry trends, technologies, and techniques to continually improve the quality and creativity of Lowe’s photography.
Ability to develop strong working relationships with peers and project members, communicating effectively with project stakeholders to ensure deliverables are met.
Ability to support the execution of multiple concurrent and complex projects from conception through delivery.
Travel if needed: Will attend and manage all photoshoots, CGI reviews both in-person and virtually
Completes all other creative duties as assigned.

Understands the private brands product categories, key competitors, and possesses the ability to develop photography solutions across multiple packaging types and sizes.
Ensures that quality and brand standards are met, and photography solutions are provided in a way that will resonate with the consumer and facilitate the buying process.
Collaborates with key stakeholders in both US and Canada to comprehend product features and category packaging requirements.
Serves as photography lead for assigned product categories and acts as an escalation point for production issue resolution.
Builds and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external global teams (e.g., category management, packaging design, product vendors and photography studios). Ensures that Photography Producers maintain appropriate timelines and workload balance.
Attends daily meetings and communicates vital project related information, takes appropriate action on information shared in meetings. Maintains consistent communication with Photography Producers.
Understands, anticipates, and defines project plans for executing within timeline and product sample constraints.
Uses creative thinking to make recommendations regarding execution strategies and potential solutions.
Actively manages schedules, shot lists, merchandise tracking, and budgets from pre-production through post-production.
Deep understanding of project management tool to be able to train and assist Traffic Managers with those tools.
Understands the current technology and packaging quality standards.
Ability to develop strong working relationships with peers and project members.
Communicates consistently with project stakeholders to ensure deliverables are met.
Ability to support the execution of multiple concurrent and complex projects from conception through delivery.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Fine Arts, Interior Design or related field and 5-8 Years relevant experience (including print, packaging, video, photography, CGI and content creation)
5 years of proven experience as a Creative Lead/Director, Art Lead/Director or similar role in a commercial/large retail environment, consumer packaged goods company, advertising agency or preferably Fortune 500 Company.
Strong sense of design, photo art direction, and conceptual ideation.
Strong portfolio of work highlighting design work that is inspiring and compelling in a wide range of styles.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office suite.
Strong acumen in Project Management skillset.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of Photography/Video execution.
Experience using a MAC platform preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree MBA, Marketing, Advertising, or Communications
