DESCRIPTION
Are you a Medical Assistant who is excited to demonstrate, hone, or expand your clinical skills while working full-time at a multi-specialty practice in Northern Virginia? Good candidates have at least one full year of experience as a Medical Assistant and/or CMA/CCMA certification and thrive on working efficiently and compassionately to attend to the needs of patients.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform patient intake, data collection, and documentation.
- Record vital signs and EKGs accurately
- Administer injections and point-of-care testing
- Prioritizes daily work assignments to support patient needs and provider’s daily workflow
- Processes prescription refills and prior authorizations
- Responds to clinical phone calls and electronic messages
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1 year of experience working as a Medical Assistant or recent certification as a Medical Assistant (May substitute attainment of a relevant bachelor's degree.)
Familiarity with medical terminology
Previous use of electronic health record (EHR) or electronic medical record (EMR) systems
Must possess a strong work ethic and be able to learn quickly
Must be caring in nature and sensitive to the needs of all patients
Must contribute to team efforts to manage patient and electronic workflow.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with athenaNet / athenaOne
CMA or CCMA certification or college graduates with pre-med or pre-nursing coursework
BLS and CPR certification
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
