This position is full - time (40 hours / week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to work an 8-hour shift schedule during our normal business hours of 7:00 am - 7:00 pm CST. c
We offer 2 weeks of paid training. The hours during training will be 8:00 am - 4:30 pm CST Monday-Friday. Training will be conducted virtually from your home.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Initiates prior authorizations for outpatient medication injectables so members can receive medication in a timely manner
- Take calls from providers regarding chemotherapy and specialty medication injectables as well as verifying HIPAA
- Take calls from providers and enter services that they are requesting into the system
- Must have accurate documentation and meet weekly metrics. Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED or equivalent work experience
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- 1+ years of experience in health insurance or medical billing
- 1+ years of experience taking 40+ calls in a high-volume call center environment
- Experience with computer and Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to navigate and learn new and complex computer system applications
- Ability to work any 8 hour shift schedule during the hours of 7:00 am-7:00 pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience working with ICD - 9 / 10 and CPT codes
- Professional experience in a clerical or administrative support related role
- Experience working with Microsoft Word (creating, editing, saving documents)
- Microsoft Excel (creating, editing, saving spreadsheets)
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Pharmacy experience-working knowledge of prescription drug names
Telecommuting Requirements:
- Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
- Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
- Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.

The hourly range for this role is $16.88 to $33.22 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
