Job Description
At LinkedIn, we trust each other to do our best work where it works best for us and our teams. This role offers a hybrid work option, with an office location in Mountain View, CA.
We are looking for an experienced principal-level technical lead for the big data platform infrastructure organization in LinkedIn. The candidate would be the organizational leader’s technical partner in building end-to-end solutions for the platform. The organization includes orchestrators, data processing query engines, streams compute, data warehouse, and catalog. The candidate should have proven experience in most of these technologies so that the person can help design and lead end-to-end solutions that span the entire platform.
This would include partnering with the technical leads to help build solutions in the following areas:
Building a seamless managed data experience for the platform users
Strategize and help build a single multipurpose query engine that spans both batch and streams compute.
Strategizing on the SQL-first strategy for infrastructure.
Building an observable platform that has true end-to-end error handling.
The candidate is expected to work with partners and customer stakeholders to strategize and lead solutions along with a deep hands-on approach to problem-solving. The candidate should have demonstrated strong leadership skills with a focus on customer experience and quality.
Basic Qualifications:
BS/BA in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent technical experience
10+ years of experience in software design, building solutions with at least 5 of those years in a technical leadership position
Preferred Qualifications:
12+ years' experience in software design with at least 5 of those years in a technical leadership position
Experience with big data platform infrastructure
Experience leading and influencing within large, matrixed organization
Experience leading high-impact, cross-organization initiatives.

The pay range for this role is $238,000 to $390,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
