About the Opportunity
The Cross-Section Prep Operator receives test strips and prepares microsection coupons for the Cross-Section Operator to evaluate. The position ensures that all jobs are processed in accordance with Team Leader direction, Traveler information and Standard Operating Procedures.
What You'll Do:
- Reads and interprets work instructions on the traveler to verify coupon quantity and specifications for each microsection
- Visually inspects coupons and ensures proper serialization before removing the microsection samples
- Cuts the incoming test strips based on traveler specifications
- Inserts positioning pins in coupons and places the microsections into mold
- Operates oven according to SOP or Traveler
- Prepares acrylic and epoxy
- Grinds, polishes and washes the microsection according to the SOP
- Performs other duties as needed

- Ability to read and interpret documents such as standard operating procedure, instructions and safety rules in English to the degree necessary to perform the job
- Ability to understand and follow all safety codes and requirements.
- Must be detailed oriented and self-motivate
- Must be able to remain focused with minor interruptions
- Excellent attendance and punctuality
- Must be able to work overtime as required
Added Bonus If You Have:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred
- 1 to 2 years of related experience in PWB manufacturing environment (Preferred)
Please note that in addition to frequent standing and walking, and prolonged sitting, the work environment requires lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 20 pounds; as well as, frequent reaching, twisting, turning, and constant hand motion.
Schedule:
- 8-hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed
Potential Shifts Available:
1st shift, Monday- Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm
