Senior Sales Engineer
The Senior Sales Engineer is a seasoned professional responsible for driving sales of complex custom equipment by collaborating closely with the Senior Applications Engineer. This role involves leading the sales process, managing key customer accounts, and providing high-level technical expertise to deliver tailored solutions. The Senior Sales Engineer will utilize their deep industry knowledge and strategic thinking to meet customer needs and achieve sales targets.

What Youll Be Doing
- Customer Relationship Management:
- Develop and nurture long-term relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
- Act as the primary point of contact for major accounts, ensuring exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
- Conduct detailed needs analysis to understand and anticipate customer requirements.
- Sales Strategy and Execution:
- Lead the sales process for complex custom equipment, from initial contact to contract negotiation and closing.
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve sales targets and expand the customer base.
- Collaborate with the Senior Applications Engineer to design and present customized solutions that meet customer specifications.
- Product Expertise and Support:
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of the company's complex custom equipment offerings.
- Provide high-level technical consultations and support to customers, addressing complex technical inquiries and challenges.
- Work with the Senior Applications Engineer to conduct technical presentations, demonstrations, and site visits.
- Proposal and Contract Management:
- Prepare detailed and accurate sales proposals, quotations, and contracts for complex custom equipment.
- Ensure all proposals and contracts meet customer needs and comply with company policies and standards.
- Negotiate terms and conditions to secure favorable agreements for both the customer and the company.
- Market Development:
- Contribute to market research to identify emerging trends, new opportunities, and competitive landscape.
- Assist in executing strategies to capitalize in specified markets and further expanding the companys footprint in focused markets.
- Participate in industry events, trade shows, and conferences to network and promote the company's offerings.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activities, customer interactions, and opportunities in the CRM system.
- Providing executives with detailed updates on project progressions including timelines, probability, challenges, etc.
- Provide insights and recommendations for product development and improvement based on customer feedback and market demands.
- Process order paperwork and documentation to prepare an internal handoff to operations team.
Top Internal Customers:
Project Engineering Provide detailed and technically accurate quotations for Estimating. Uncover, document, and provide accurate technical information to pass on to the Engineering design team, allowing the design to be efficiently completed.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Previous experience in technical sales, with a focus on selling complex custom equipment (7+ years).
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in an industrial sales environment.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Deep technical knowledge and the ability to understand and explain complex equipment specifications.
- Experience with CRM software and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to travel as needed to meet with customers and attend industry events.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in technical sales, with a focus on selling complex custom equipment (10+ years).
- Familiarity with advanced sales techniques and strategies.
- Experience with project management and leading cross-functional teams.
- Efficiency in CRM Software (Salesforce).
- Experience mentoring and training junior sales engineers.

This position operates in a professional office environment. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of conditions within the plant including hot in the summer months and cold in the winter months. The noise level is usually moderate.
