The Opportunity
As a dedicated Regulatory Analyst Senior, you will provide regulatory support and guidance in one or more of the following areas: regulatory complaints; licensing; Board, Committee and Member Meeting preparation; legal and regulatory filings; review of laws and regulations for business impact; identification of outstanding compliance issues; or support for compliance analysis and assessments.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Colorado Springs, CO, or Charlotte, NC. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
What you'll do:
Reviews and researches highly complex regulatory requests, such as complaints, company appointments, and/or general changes to laws and regulations.
Actively liaises with regulator based on issue/coordination of multiple stakeholders to determine business objective, regulatory requests, analyzing and accountable for investigating all allegations and/or accuracy of corporate data.
Coordinates with appropriate business units and counsel for responses.
Develops written responses and gathers supporting documents to complete and submit regulatory requests.
Forwards final regulatory responses to the regulators, appropriate business units, and/or the complainant as required.
May be required to serves as subject matter expert for all DOI requests and/or complaints.
Assists in distribution of work assignments to ensure timely deliverables are achieved.
Serves as a financial services regulatory subject matter expert to peers and team members and serves as a resource to team members on escalated issues.
Ensures business partners follow written risk and compliance policies and procedures for business activities. Provides recommendations and feedback to business units regarding appropriate action to support the regulatory request.
In coordination with Compliance or Legal partners, effectively challenges the business to ensure internal processes are consistent with regulatory requirements and issues or gaps are appropriately addressed and mitigated.
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
Bachelor’s degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
6 years of experience providing support on regulatory, or compliance matters within a financial services or insurance industry.
2 years of experience independently and accurately responding to regulatory inquiries.
Significant experience in the regulated financial services and/or insurance industry and demonstrated working knowledge of current applicable regulations and regulatory issues.
Knowledge of compliance laws and regulatory expectations.
Advanced knowledge and application of risk management frameworks.
Experience prioritizing and influencing in a highly complex environment while maintaining attention to detail.
What sets you apart:
Knowledge of USAA Corporate Structure and Committee Governance.
Experience with NIPR and/or Zircon regulatory filing systems.
Experience taking minutes for board and/or management committees.
US military experience with skills related to one of the following MOS’s: Navy (Legalman (LN)), Marines (4421, 4430), Army (27A/42H/59A/97A/45A/46A/34A), USAF (1102C1 / 1340-1341 / 1C3X1 / 1D7XX)

What we offer:
Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $93,770 - $179,240.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
