Description:What You Will Be Doing
Applicant will perform non-destructive and dimensional inspections of aircraft structural assemblies, forgings, and/or sonic configurations in maintaining F-35 aircraft as part of the aircraft maintenance unit supporting Launch, Recovery, Maintenance, Upgrade and Overhaul operations at Luke AFB AZ. This position supports global external requirements as a Quick Reaction Team (QRT) and candidate may be off station for extensive travel in support of QRT/NDI requirements both CONUS and OCONUS. The successful candidate uses technical expertise in the field of non-destructive testing (NDT) with industry certifications in eddy current testing and ultrasonic testing. The successful candidate will conduct Maintenance and Process Compliance evaluations in support of Quality Management oversight. Applicant may be required to obtain special certifications (example: Ejection Seat Removal/Install, Canopy R/I, borescope, etc.)
Discretion/Latitude 1: The applicant will conduct scheduled Process Compliance Surveillance inspections as a Quality Assurance Inspector on maintenance activities to ensure compliance with contractual obligations. Requires the ability to evaluate process compliance, write/review Corrective Action/Preventative Action (CAPA) reports, perform root cause analysis and validate quality processes, responses, and plans. Requires ability to conduct incident and/or mishap investigation audits, prepare quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information, and trends including failed process, recalls, corrective actions, and validations.
Discretion/Latitude 2: Works under only general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
Impact 1: Contributes to the completion of specific programs and projects. Failure to obtain results or erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in serious program delays and considerable expenditure of resources.
Impact 2: This position is designed to support both local and global NDI requirements, which may lead to extensive travel.
Knowledge 1: Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts, in the field. General knowledge of other related disciplines.
Liaison 1: Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts. Represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.
Must be certified at least to NAS 410 (current revision) Level II in Eddy Current and Ultrasonic disciplines.
Must operate a computerized workstation and computer operated equipment.
Must be able to demonstrate a knowledge of or have completed training in interpretation of engineering drawings.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a driver’s license.
The individual will also perform all other duties as directed by the production staff and leadership team, and must be able to work first, second, and third shift on short notice.
Individual must be able to depart on temporary duty assignments—also on short notice.
Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Must have at least an interim secret clearance to start.

Basic Qualifications:
- Candidate must be certified as a NAS410 Nondestructive Inspection Level II in Ultrasonics (UT) and Eddy Current (ET)
- Candidate must have a minimum three years of experience working on aircraft utilizing NDI equipment, standards, probes, etc. in performance of NDI inspections.
Desired Skills:
- Degree in related field from accredited university
- Experience with Liquid Penetrant Inspection (PT) and Radiography (RT) methods.
- 5th Generation fighter aircraft experience.
- Composite repair experience
- Experience with Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS).
- Current U.S. Passport.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: Standard Monday to Friday 40 hour work week
