Job Description
The Media Management Operations Coordinator is a key player in managing and optimizing media workflows. This role is responsible for operating essential tools for ingesting, transcoding, archiving, restoring, and distributing media, as well as performing quality control across various media file formats.
Job Duties:
- Identifies, ingests, and manipulates diverse video formats and frame rates, including SD, HD, 4K, 6K, mp4,.mxf, .mov, Apple ProRes 422/444, XOCN, XAVC, and Low Res Proxy files.
- Transfers media from various sources (e.g., hard drives, LTO tapes, camera cards, KiPro cards, media links) to an AVID Interplay or MAM environment.
- Sets up organizational folder structures for titles and projects within an AVID Interplay system.
- Performs media tasks such as ingesting, reviewing, moving, restoring, exporting, and archiving media within AVID environments.
- Uses video encoding tools to transcode media into broadcast-compliant formats.
- Performs detailed quality control to ensure technical specifications and broadcast standards, providing comprehensive QC reports.
- Archives media files using AVID PAM, MAM, and DIVA View systems.
- Utilizes tools like Frame I.O. and Latakoo for media sharing and exporting.
- Independently troubleshoots basic software and hardware issues, relaying detailed information to the engineering team.
- Performs basic media management to maintain workspace capacity at optimal levels.
- Adapts to fluctuating schedules, including nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays, in a high-demand, fast-paced environment.
- Works under the direct supervision of the Sr Manager of Media Operations and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by Manager.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a production, postproduction, broadcast, or communications environment.
- Proficiency in tools such as Avid Media Composer, Interplay Access, ISIS, Adobe Media Encoder, Colorfront, Frame I.O., Diva View, and Azure cloud storage.
- Exhibits working knowledge of computers and software applications including MS Outlook, MS Word, & MS Excel.
- Exhibits comprehensive knowledge of various media formats, file types, and video standards (e.g., NTSC, PAL).
- Exhibits knowledge of various media formats/VTRs (Digibeta, HDcam, XDcam, UHD, 4K, 6K), file types (QT, WMV, MXF, MOV, DNX, DNX 175X, DV, Apple ProRes, etc) and video standards (NTSC, PAL).
- Clear understanding of frame rates and broadcast technical specifications.
- Professional experience with Avid Media Composer, Avid Capture, Evertz Routers, Davinci, Silver Stack, and Colorfront.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish (both written & verbal).
Desired Characteristics:
- Bachelor’s or 2-year degree in Communications or Media preferred.
- Experience in international broadcast operations or media.
- Familiarity with broadcast and digital streaming media workflows.
- Exceptional time management, facilitation, and organizational skills
- Self-starter who exhibits ownership of assigned tasks and who will push for solutions that solve immediate problems while building toward long-term goals.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Accustomed to working in a team and collaborating with all levels within the organization.
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail.
- Ability to build rapport with clients and manage expectations.
- Ability to effectively be flexible in approach, and respond well to pressure.

- This position is required to be performed on a Hybrid basis from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
