John Deere Thibodaux: Service Technician
As a Service Technician with John Deere Thibodaux, you will:
Perform complex diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural equipment.
Job details are dependent on duties assigned but in general consist of the following:
- Perform complex diagnostics and repairs on agricultural equipment.
- Build and maintain good customer service and working relationships.
- Assemble, adjust, and commission new equipment.
- Participate in training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge.
- Perform diagnosis and repair in the field as required.
- Mentor Service Technician Trainees and Service Technicians.
- Provide technical information for customers and dealers.
- Maintain current knowledge of John Deere products.
- Maintain condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment.
- Maintain a clean work area and perform work in a neat and orderly fashion.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
- Complete all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments.
- Account for all time and material used in performing assigned duties.
- Assist and support other team members and work with minimal supervision.
- Clean work area and perform other miscellaneous duties inherent to the job.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have at least one of the following:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC)
- At least 3 years of manufacturing work experience
- At least 5+ years of work experience in mechanical / electrical / hydraulic systems used in repair of equipment OR equivalent certification(s) / journeyperson’s card(s). Includes:
- Ability to perform complex repairs and maintenance using applicable equipment and Technical Manual procedures.
- Ability to use Service Advisor and basic computer functions.
- Experience in operating vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes.
- Ability to perform manual tasks related to described job duties for duration of work shift; including but not limited to frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
- Ability and willingness to work any shift and potential overtime (including weekends).
