The Facility Designer I is an essential, valued member of the HDR O&M Facilities Design staff directly responsible for developing a major portion of our project deliverables. This person is self-motivated, creative, and innovative, with the ability to be a team player in an international, employee-owned A/E firm.
Day to day tasks will include planning, design, and industrial equipment specification on some of the world’s most advanced vehicle maintenance facilities.
- Facility programming, report writing, site master planning, developing specifications and construction documents
- Selection, coordination, and layout of various aspects of design (industrial shop equipment, site flow, etc.)
- Creating / using Building Information Modeling (BIM) to complete different levels of documents
- Submittal, shop drawing, and RFI review
- Conduct construction field observations
- Other design / engineering tasks as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in industrial design, facility planning, equipment layout, or workflow analysis is preferred but will consider entry level candidates with 4-year degree and strong BIM skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to effectively work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to effectively interact with and present to client
- Exceptional level of accuracy and detail
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in architecture, industrial design or related
- 2 to 5 years' experience in industrial design, facility planning, equipment layout, building mechanical or plumbing design, or work flow analysis
- Command of Revit and AutoCAD, and knowledge of SketchUp
- Command of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project)
- Working knowledge of LOD 300 requirements
