Job Summary:
Trane by Trane Technologies in Trenton, NJ is hiring an Indirect Material Planner for their residential HVAC manufacturing site. In this role, you will be responsible for managing our Indirect and MRO purchases/services and their timely delivery to the manufacturing plant to support the facility and all its operations. The Material Planner will collaborate with enterprise strategic procurement, supplier representatives, facilities, maintenance, engineering, quality, finance and assembly operations teams to solve problems, improve processes and key metrics.
Responsibilities:

Plan and procure goods and services by category and supplier. Responsible for maintaining optimal inventory levels.

Request, analyze and evaluate supplier bids, tenders, proposals, or quotations; assist strategic sourcing with negotiating prices and delivery conditions; and commit to purchases (within established limits of authority) with terms that are in the organization's best interest. Interpret inventory requests, production schedules, purchase requisitions, orders, and other documents to co-ordinate purchasing activities

Monitor the quality and timeliness of materials and goods supplied; follow-up the status of purchase orders with vendors to ensure timely delivery; and communicate status of orders with internal customers.

Arrange and expedite shipping and delivery to meet or exceed scheduled requirements

Ensure issues related to delivery and quality are promptly conveyed to supplier and resolved in a timely manner

Facilitates problem resolution with Suppliers, AP, Finance team related to purchases, pricing discrepancies and receipt to invoice reconciliation

Facilitates phase-in/phase-out projects associated with design changes, value-engineering, supplier sourcing changes and product lifecycle.

Actively participates in lean/A3 problem-solving projects, Managing Daily Improvements (MDI), and Kaizen events.
Qualifications:

3+ years of experience in indirect sourcing/purchasing required. Technical knowledge preferred.

Oversee contracts with suppliers

Demonstrable analytical skills and mathematics.

Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Bachelor's degree preferred

Proficient with Microsoft Office, strong Excel capability

Must be flexible and proactive problem solver, ability to multitask
