Job Summary:
The Thermo King Americas FP&A Analyst is an integral member of the TK Americas FP&A team and reports to the TK Latin America Commercial Finance Manager. Primary activities related to the SBUs investment portfolio and include analyzing and reporting monthly actuals; preparing quarterly, annual operating plan, mid-year, and long range plan forecasts; investments support to project team on business cases; and preparation for monthly SBU investment review board meetings. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong financial analysis, forecasting, planning, systems and reporting skills, business partnership, and problem-solving skills, as well as a solid understanding of the business and overall investment processes documented on the Business Operating Systems (BOS). Additionally, this role requires an emphasis on innovation of process and tools, as well as excellent communication and ability to communicate cross-functionally to non-finance employees. The candidate must be able to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment with high visibility, and strong work ethic. While investments will be a primary area of focus there will be broader exposure to the SBUs FP&A team and support of Monthly Operating Review and forecast responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Support monthly analysis of investment spend to provide insights and variance analysis to forecast.
- Assist with preparing the presentation and supporting investment portfolio analysis for the SBU’s monthly Investment Review Board meeting.
- Provide finance support to project teams preparing (i) business case analysis and presentations for approval; and (ii) look-back financial analysis and project learnings.
- Help organize and drive the development of Long Range Plan, Annual Operating Plan, and mid year investment forecasts that captures the consolidated story for the SBU.
- Identify and drive innovation in tools and processes around consolidations, analysis, and forecasting that improve the efficiency, quality and effectiveness, and the consistency in the analysis required throughout the business.
- Perform frequent and complex ad hoc analytical assignments and assist in other finance functions and responsibilities as needed.
- Develop tools for early identification of financial problems and make recommendations for resolution of problems including A3s and Countermeasures.
- Effectively document and maintain standard work for all areas of responsibility.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent required, MBA, CPA or CMA is a plus
- 3+ years of finance analyst/accounting experience; Accelerated Development Program graduates also considered
- Experience with financial reporting cycles, such as forecasts, and budgets (AOP)
- Strong passion for innovation around detailed analytics (and supporting process) to efficiently drive insights for effective decisions by leadership
- Advanced Analytical Skills. Knowledgeable in MS Office, Oracle/Hyperion Planning/HFM knowledge, Tableau/Alteryx
- Team player with a strong ability to build relationships and instill confidence with finance peers and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Robust commitment to a culture of proactive compliance
- Strong knowledge of financial statements and the key aspects of U.S. GAAP that relate to the consolidation of financial statements.
- Must be able to adapt to and work effectively in an environment of continuous change
- Ability to assess and implement process improvements and drive change, efficiency and standardization of the company’s finance processes
- Possess excellent organization and time management skills to be able to handle several assignments at one time and work in matrix organization
