The Maintenance Technician II role will be reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor/Planner and will have primary responsibility for the preventative maintenance and repair of process related equipment, conveying systems and site facilities.
Position Description
- Safe use of hand tools, power tools, and electrical troubleshooting equipment to perform work safely.
- Provide quick and effective conveyor repairs to support distribution functions including receiving, storage, and shipping activities.
- Must be able to read and interpret schematics and drawings.
- Must be experienced in PLC controllers and process instrumentation.
- Must have experience in preventative maintenance and repair involving plumbing, carpentry, drywall repair, and high/low voltage electricity.
- Must be a self-starter with a dedicated focus on quality improvement.
- Must be able to work in elevated areas of a distribution center involving heights of 32’ ceiling joists.
- Performs equipment Predictive and Preventive Maintenance in a timely manner and according to percentage of completion standards established with the business maintenance work order system.
- Respond to maintenance service requests.
- Review work orders with Lead Technician or Maintenance Supervisor on a daily basis.
- Follow the Maintenance Standard Operating Procedures.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by the Property Manager, Maintenance Supervisor or Lead Technician.
- Knowledge of general construction practices i.e., carpentry, painting and roofing as well as a general knowledge of residential mechanical systems
Qualifications:
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- 5+ years of experience on the job in distribution building maintenance.
- Operating knowledge of Microsoft office software and working proficiency with desktop/ laptop computers.
- Journeyman experience or the completion of an apprenticeship program prefered.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, hand tools, and industrial equipment.
- Awareness of national, state, and local electrical codes and regulations.
- Proficient in electro mechanics, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Flexible to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Ability to manage conflicts and reason, work well in team settings, and perform work independently with minimal supervision.
- Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking.
- Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing.
- Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching.
- Ability to lift, carry, push or pull medium weights, up to 75 pounds.
Additional Training and education:
Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes and gases.
