Essential Functions:
Support continuous improvement efforts by addressing engineering, quality, technical, product, process and equipment issues, and assist with product changes, transfers, and new product development and integration.
Education:
High school diploma or GED
Certificate from CCC or other accredited college in one of the following areas (or equivalent)
Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning
- Electrical Technology
- Equivalent technical certificate (examples: Machine Tool Technology, Welding, etc.)
- Business Management
- Supervisory Management
Significant assembly and/or internal supply process knowledge and skills
Certifications:
- Soldering certification, if position is in assembly or otherwise applicable (example, tubing department)
- Welding certifications, if applicable
Minimum Qualifications
- Each section has expectations in the following areas of development for the engineering technician position:
- Technical Skills: Safety, Quality, Productivity
- Productivity: experience with working multiple stations and/or machines, preferably in different departments.
- Productivity/Quality: Soldering, welding, and/or forklift certifications obtained and maintained, if applicable.
- Productivity: Know, track and present team metric information to team(s).
- Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrated effectiveness in communications with others through a specific opportunity, as determined by department needs.
- Computer Skills: Develop skills in Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel, for example) and in use of e-mail.
Introductory Level: Primary focus is learning the process
- Successful completion of introductory period (6 months)

- Basic understanding, support and commitment to the team and continuous improvement

Essential Functions (Maximum Timeframe 6 months)
- Safety: Assist with 5S activities in assigned area.
- Productivity: Help develop and maintain standard work for areas assigned.
- Productivity: Understand and properly utilize all material replenishment systems in area assigned.
- Computer Skills: Learn Oracle and Windchill applications for assigned areas.
- Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate ability to successfully train others, using training techniques appropriate to the situation and the individual.
Qualified Level: Primary focus is performing the essential duties of the position

Essential Functions (Maximum Timeframe 12 months)
- Safety: Complete ergonomic and safety improvements in assigned areas
- Quality: Understand overall Quality Management System and participate in quality audits that pertain to assigned areas.
- Quality: Initiate engineering changes requests and implement engineering change orders.
- Productivity: Participate in product standardization and VA/VE analysis
- Computer Skills: Select a computer application to learn that applies to assigned area and develop a plan for training.
