The Role
Trane Technologies is hiring a Director of Lighting Strategy to lead our North America Lighting Business. We are a leader for secure, energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly buildings and infrastructure – and with addressable lighting and the most up to date technology, the lighting infrastructure becomes the foundation for intelligent buildings. We differentiate ourselves by providing an integrated HVAC and lighting solution with a single platform to provide visibility to and control of more than half of a building’s energy use.
Trane is currently connected to more than 24,000 buildings for energy sustainability analytics with future energy and cost savings easily identified through remote connection.
The North American Director of Lighting Strategy is responsible for leading the Lighting Solutions Strategy across all of North America and will be tasked with enhancing awareness of all of our lighting capabilities and offerings. We are looking for someone who will position Trane as a thought leader in the lighting and integrated energy management space.
Core Responsibilities
• Spearhead & develop initiatives to identify opportunities for new & improved processes.
• Communicate and collaborate with other leaders and managers, suppliers, and contractors.
• Serve as North America Lighting Technical leader and technical subject matter expert.
• Leverage the breadth of our North American Account Managers to raise awareness of our lighting offerings to customers in addition to our other HVAC and energy services platforms and services.
• Perform product demonstrations and communicates Trane’s lighting capabilities and offerings to sales account managers.
• Utilize depth of lighting science expertise to balance quality, energy efficiency, and financials to provide the customer the best lighting solution for their budget and help to negotiate pricing and turnkey proposals to best set customers up for success.
• Communicate and collaborate with Trane sales account managers, and development teams to support the technical expertise of Trane to enable the growth of the lighting business.
• Prepare and deliver presentations on Trane’s ability to deliver lighting solutions internally and externally.
• Visit customer sites and meetings in support of our Lighting business to assist with sales account managers calls.
Qualifications
• Leadership skill required, self-motivated, analytical, and problem-solving skills, ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to distill complicated topics and find solutions for a broader audience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics or Business.
• Proven experience in the Lighting and Lighting Controls Industry is highly preferred

Base Pay Range (for Colorado Residents): $150,000 – $250,000
Additional Compensation: Bonus
