Job Summary:
The person selected for this position will serve as the Area Service Manager for 4-6 associates in the successful and safe operation of our Trane Rental Services location. In this position you will be responsible for partnering closely with our Trane Sales and Service organization to drive growth and profitability of our Rental Services business and fulfill our Rental Services strategy. In partnership with the Sales and Service district office, you will own the customer experience for Rental Services. Other responsibilities include overseeing daily operations to include facility maintenance and care, opening and closing on a daily basis. You will manage the daily work assignments of associates and inventory to include fleet readiness and repair scheduling. Other responsibilities include ownership for associate selection, performance management and development. You will manage the general safety and health programs for the location. It is helpful to have a working knowledge of commercial HVAC maintenance and repair but not required. Trane product knowledge is also helpful. You need to have the ability to comprehend rental modifications and HVAC/Power Generation application needs for customers; strong mechanical abilities required. In this position you will track employees' personal time and vacation. You must be willing to occasionally safely operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes and switcher trucks. Other responsibilities include management and participation in an on-call rotation to support rental operations.
- Selection, performance management and development for depot associates
- Serve as primary contact and business partner with local Trane Sales and Service location
- Project management
- Rental equipment management
- Refrigerant management control for the facility and rental fleet
- Timekeeping approval
- Rental job order fulfillment
- Manage service work order and material inventory using Rental Services computer software
- On-call system and support
- Maintain budget as directed
- Source services and special materials as required
- Travel up to but not limited to 30% (Some overnight)
- Supervise all turnkey installations and decommissions
Qualifications:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. A minimum of 5+ years of experience in leadership, HVAC, or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
- Experience in leading a team of technicians is preferred.
- Operating knowledge of Microsoft office software and working proficiency with hand held computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad).
- Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to:
- DUI in the previous 5 years
- Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless / Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
- This position requires working in diverse conditions including but not limited to mechanical equipment rooms with exposure to noisy operating equipment, exposure to extreme weather conditions, precarious places, and risk of electrical shock (high voltage).
- This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, and kneeling. It requires employees to regularly lift and or move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift and or move up to 40 lbs. and occasionally lift and or move more than 40 lbs.
