Job Summary:
Thermo King in Minneapolis, MN is hiring an Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) Sales Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the APU revenue and profitability at the customer and dealer level. Traveling into a targeted, defined geographic area, this includes quoting, strategizing, and developing relationships to achieve revenue targets, maximize profits, increase market share and maintain customer loyalty while achieving organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
- Develop profitable business with new and existing customers through direct interaction with dealers and customers. This role builds positive long-term relationships that will generate future sales and repeat business.
- Utilize solid understanding of the customer’s business to then assess the customer’s needs and suggest appropriate products and services. Provide knowledge and consultation in the form of solutions for the customer’s problems, including financial and performance-based considerations. Consistently ascertain customer needs and current market opportunities. Provide marketplace feedback, including competitive information, customer expectations, industry trends, etc.
- Provide selling skills and product/services training for dealer sales personnel (as required) as well as personnel within customer center.
- Ensure adherence to safety rules (vehicle safety, dealer site safety) in the field
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, business or equivalent from a four-year college or university preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of five (3) years’ experience in a sales business setting. Knowledge of Salesforce preferred.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations included, but not limited to:
- DUI in the previous 5 years;
- Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
