Job Description
Alliance Data Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring all data needs of the Strategic Alliance team required for reporting and analytics are met. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in data engineering, with expertise in designing and implementing scalable and efficient data pipelines and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes. This role will collaborate with the data analytsts and integration leads on the Alliance team to identify the data needs and work with a number of technology teams to build the required data pipes.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Design, develop and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes
• Ensure seamless data synchronization between systems
• Develop systems to proactively monitor data quality and ensure accuracy, consistency, and security
• Troubleshoot and resolve data-related discrepancies in a timely manner as they are identified
• Collaborate cross-functionally with business users, data analysts and insight leads, and other engineers to build efficient and scalable data pipelines
• Colloborate with other data engineers across the organization to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices
• Apply Dev/Ops mindset, take ownership of production success, optimize operation success via automation/active alerting/self-healing, and lead the resolution of production issues to ensure high-availability and performance
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
- At least 5 years of experience with design, development, automation, and support of applications to extract, transform, and load data
- At least 7 years of experience within a total information technology (IT) environment
Preferred Skills / Experience
• Strong experience tools like Apache Spark, Hadoop, or Kafka
• Expertise in SQL, NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB, Cassandra)
• Extensive experience in designing and implementing Extract, Transform, Load (ETL/ELT) processes
• Proficiency in Python, Java, Scala, GoLang or similar languages
• Experience in Java, node.js and object-oriented design skills
• Proven track record of building and managing scalable data pipelines
• Hands-on knowledge of technologies like Hive, Presto, or Flink
• Experience in managing big data sets
Strong SQL skills with a minimum of two years of professional experience
• Knowledge of analytics and statistical software such as R, Python, SAS, and others to perform analyses and interpret data
• Working knowledge of MS Office products with advanced Excel skills
• Experience working with data visualization tools – Tableau and Power BI preferred
• Experience with cloud platforms like Azure, AWS or Google Cloud Services
• Demonstrated project management skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, particularly when working with cross-functional teams

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $105,400.00 - $124,000.00 - $136,400.00
