What does a successful Mainframe Programmer do at Fiserv?
You'll bring your expertise in IBM mainframe development to support important project delivery for key clients in the world of financial institutions. Fiserv applications are designed to support the core infrastructure for our clients, enabling them to accelerate the speed of financial transactions and expand the possibilities of what’s possible in payments.
What you will do:
• Perform installation, maintenance, and fixes for z/OS mainframe software
• Evaluate mainframe z/OS software upgrade requirements to maintain and enhance Fiserv products
• Coordinate and schedule software upgrades
• Work with capacity and performance teams to address performance issues impacting service levels
• Develop detailed implementation plans and schedules and prepare periodic status reports
• Create and contribute to application designs
• Research and fix production issues and support for several applications
• Participate in a regular on-call production support rotation to ensure constant oversight for clients
What you will need to have:
• Successful completion of Fiserv 2024 Step It Up Mainframe training
What would be great to have:
• 1+ year(s) of experience with COBOL
• 1+ year(s) of experience working within the IBM z/OS mainframe operating system
• 1+ year(s) of experience with JCL, CICS, and Endevor
• 1+ year(s) of experience in a 24x7 on-call support environment
• Experience working within Agile or Scrum environments
• Experience with advanced Excel features
• Experience in the payments or financial services domain
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, or an equivalent combination of work, education, and/or military experience
