What does this role look like?Join us at Lockheed Martin as an
ElectroMechanical Engineer within our Space Vehicle Harness Design department where we are responsible for mechanical and electrical design tasks relating to wire harness, cable design, and interconnecting of electronic equipment.
This position is for an Electro Mechanical Engineer Staff that collaborates well in a team environment, has excellent communication skills, and proactively takes initiative.
Key activities you will accomplish in this role:• Technical development, coordination, and ownership of harness and cable assembly manufacturing drawings, harness parts lists, harness and cable wire connection lists, engineering change support, and/or schematic capture of wiring diagrams.
• Additionally, your contributions will aid in investigating design factors such as part availability, manufacturability, ease of assembly, weight, and cost.
• Additional responsibilities may include: documentation release, testing requirement definition, Interface Control Drawing (ICD) interpretation, detailed Component Performance Specification interpretation, conceptual designs, and trade studies.
To be effective in this role, you will need:• 9+ years professional experience; 7+ years with Masters degree.
• Experience with full product life cycle - knowledge of the definition, interpretation, and implementation of design requirements, coordination and execution of harness designs, development and integration of cables and harnesses for space vehicles in accordance with all Lockheed Martin Space engineering process specifications
• Experience with design reviews and providing technical feedback.

Join us. Let’s do Space!Basic Qualifications:• Bachelor of Science or higher from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
• Experience in Mechanical Design or Electrical Design with strong understanding of Mechanical or Electrical system design, schematic capture, 3D modeling, design for manufacturability, structures, and materials.
• Mechanical hardware or harness design, manufacture and integration experience.
• ECAD and/or MCAD modeling and drafting experience.
Desired Skills:• Familiarity with Space programs, flight specifications, and/or COTS electronic equipment/components
• CREO, SolidWorks, Zuken E3 and/or similar CAD data modeling experience
• Exposure to DFx Principles (Design for Affordability, Design for Manufacturability, etc.).
• Previous product ownership engineering experience.
• Experience as a technical lead including: resource planning and training, maintaining schedules, and ensuring technical performance.
• Ability to communicate issues and additional resource needs to leadership.
• Experience with subcontracted hardware suppliers.
• Experience performing tolerance stack ups.
• Experience with 3D printing/prototyping.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint).
• Active
TS/SCI clearance or ability to obtain a clearance.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate:The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $105,000 - $201,100. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
