Description
Leidos has an exciting opening for you as our next mid-level Safety Engineer under the digital modernization group. As a mid-level Safety Engineer, you will be required to help manage the Safety Program for the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center campus in Oklahoma City, OK. All work is conducted on-site at our client location in Oklahoma City, OK. You will be able to work remotely, 2 days out the week.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Recognize, evaluate, and develop necessary controls for occupational health hazards, environmental impacts, and safety concerns.
- Supports in development of procedures, processes, standards, specifications, and systems to identify and achieve optimal control or reduction of hazards and exposures that may harm people, property, and/or the environment.
- Serves as part of a multidisciplinary team in analyzing field-level hazard-producing mechanisms.
- Research regulatory, scientific, and engineering written materials.
- Assists safety professionals in facility inspections and annual audits.
- Initiate and provide written documentation to support the MMAC EOSHMS.
- Provide professional forklift training for compliance of occupational safety and health regulations.
- Must have the ability to obtain a public trust suitability clearance. (To qualify, you will have to be a US citizen or permanent resident and resided in the US for a minimum of 3 consecutive years.)
Basic Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in safety engineering or related field with a minimum of 2 years of experience. Additional years of experience (3-5 years) can be considered in place of a degree.

Pay Range $50,050.00 - $90,475.00
