Principal Mechanical Engineer, WaterWe support water customers across Australia to provide our communities with the best drinking water and wastewater treatment services, whilst innovating ways to safeguard and secure our country’s water supplies, elevating public spaces and enhancing livability.
The Opportunity
You’ll be a key member of our Water team who have secured projects that will change the way QLD operates forever. We are providing a more efficient and integrated water system to cater to the growth of QLD and maintain and enhance outstanding environmental outcomes. Our Water team offers services across the full water cycle, delivering major pipelines, large pumping stations, advanced water, wastewater and recycling treatment.
We address critical water cycle challenges and provide solutions through adopting flexible program delivery models and ongoing asset management programs. KBR have significant work in hand supporting key water utilities such as Urban Utilities, SEQ Water, Sydney Water, Water NSW,, SA Water, South East Water, and Melbourne Water to achieve phased savings in capital expenditure, while delivering the best environmental and community outcomes.
You will play a vital role in the water team and strongly contribute to projects, people leadership, technical direction, client relationships and commercial direction. Our team is also exploring new ways to integrate virtual reality and artificial intelligence on projects, offering you the opportunity to future proof and broaden your skills in the digital sphere.
Who are you?
You are a design focused Principal Mechanical Engineer who is motivated by achievement and commercial outcomes. Your experience with design practices for water & wastewater across major utility assets will be highly valued. You possess a pragmatic approach to the development of constructable design solutions and have proven commercial acumen in the delivery of water infrastructure.
You will perform work which involves conventional engineering practice but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, and difficult coordination requirements.
You will provide technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers, coaching guiding and mentoring across the group.
