We’re seeking someone to join our team as an Associate in Operations Risk Regulatory Control that will be part of the North America Customer Reserve & FOCUS Team, which regularly interacts with Senior Management of Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC, and Morgan Stanley Smith Barney and senior managers across Operations, Technology, Finance and Compliance.
In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships. This is an Associate level position level position within Core Services, which is responsible for performing and managing product-agnostic and centralized operational services across several businesses and products.

What you’ll do in the role:
- Execute processes/functions and/or support process management and project efforts, leveraging knowledge of the systems, markets and instruments that influence the team
- Recognize risk in day-to-day processes to draw out the key issues and contribute to process improvements
- Build relationships within team and internal stakeholders, sharing knowledge to contribute to team output
- Participate in projects and initiatives, aiding in solution formulation with a focus on timely execution
- Develop product and process knowledge relating to daily responsibilities
- Effectively meeting daily deadlines as determined by specific responsibilities within department
- Conduct weekly meetings with various stakeholder to mitigate regulatory risk
- Preparation of monthly calculations and reporting related to 15c3-1 Net Capital (FOCUS)
- Lead or contribute to working groups, as well as to consistently review the team's current procedures with the purpose to identify and drive possible process improvements
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Ability to establish clear goals and priorities, and address non-standard issues within area of expertise with minimal guidance and supervision
- Subject matter expertise in business area supported, client requirements, and ability to ensure control is not compromised to comply with client requests

- Exceptional reasoning and analytical skills
- At least 2 years’ relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role
- An undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and applicable professional experience
- Knowledge of Operations functions and processes
- Strong technical skills in various Microsoft Office Tools (particularly Access, Excel, Visio, Project and PowerPoint)
Role is hybrid and requires 3 days/per week in office attendance.
Salary range for the position: $60,000 - $80,000 Yr. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
