Description:
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Housing Supervisor assists with student intake process, dorm cleanliness, linen management, student concerns, cafeteria and student lounge support.
Essential Functions:
The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Coordinates closely with Cafeteria Supervisor to support work tasks within the cafeteria or student lounge area.
- Performs linen cleaning activities.
- Assists with student intake process into housing.
- Ensures corridors, lobbies, lounges as well as guest rooms are clean.
- Ensures students have access to supplies such as soaps and shampoos.
- Ensures bathrooms/shower facilities are clean and in working condition.
- Ensures laundry facilities are clean, stocked with detergent and in working order.
- Ensures mattresses are inspected and turned regularly.
- Reports student queries and requests to management.
- Performs office cleaning activities.
- Assists with cleaning and serving activities in cafeteria and student lounge.
- Drives the company vehicle between campus buildings to clean, and to the store, if work-related items need replenishment.
- Follows all company safety and security procedures.
- Reports any maintenance issues or safety hazards.
- Observes and reports damage of property to management.
Requirements:
Required Skills, Abilities, and Experience:
- Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, cafeteria, operations personnel and students.
- Maintains all required food handling certifications, e.g., Servsafe.
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Attention to detail.
- Works cooperatively or independently and inspires a team effort with all.
- Must be highly organized and able to work under deadlines.
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Exhibits Accountability, Respect and Integrity in all personnel communications and work tasks.
- Well-groomed, presents a positive company image.
- Safely operate a motor vehicle.
Desired Skills and Knowledge:
- Six months’ experience in a similar capacity.
- Commercial building cleaning experience.
Education and Certification Requirements:
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Required: Legal ability to work in the United States.
- Required: Valid driver license and ability to pass a motor vehicle record (MVR) check.
- Required: Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and maintain a drug-free status.
