About the Opportunity
The Soldermask Operator applies soldermask to the panels, develops soldermask and performs a variety of activities such as setting up, cleaning and curing as specified on the standard operating procedure.
What You'll Do:
- Reads and interprets work instructions on the traveler to verify part number, job number, lot quantity and legend ink type, as well as ensures that the previous operation was completed, signed and dated on the traveler.
- Reads and understands the standard operating procedures (SOP)
- Sets up the screening table which includes applying emulsion on the screen, exposing, developing and inspecting screen image
- Verifies panels are dry and surface free of oxidation or contamination before starting the screening process
- Checks shelf life of solder mask before use and mixes in accordance with mix ratio table as described on the procedure
- Applies mixed solder masks on the screen and manually operates the screen-printing press table for flooding the screen
- Visually inspect first article panel for defects such as thin mask, exposed traces, mask on pads, mask in holes, skips or contamination under the mask
- Bakes and cures panels in accordance with bake and cure table as described on the procedure
- Inspects panels and performs tape testing on both sides to ensure that the masking is robust and permanent
- Informs the Team Leader to complete and NCR for any non-conformance issues
- Signs and dates traveler, logs job out on ProCIM and move order to next schedule operation
- Uses all required personal protective equipment and follows safety measures when handling chemical and hazardous waste regarding use, mixing and disposing inks and chemical
- Maintains a clean, organized and safe work environment
- Performs all other duties as needed
What You'll Bring:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as standard operating procedure, instructions and safety rules in English to the degree necessary to perform the job

- Ability to understand and follow all safety codes and requirements.

- Must be able to remain focused with minor interruptions
- Excellent attendance and punctuality
- Must be able to work overtime as required
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of soldermask experience in PWB manufacturing environment
Please note that in addition to frequent standing and walking, the work environment requires constant lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 20 pounds; as well as, frequent reaching, twisting, turning, and constant hand motion.
Schedule:
- 8-hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed
Potential Shifts Available:
2nd shift, Monday- Friday, 4:00 pm-12:30 am
