Position Summary
The Accounts Payable Associate plays a vital role in supporting the accounting department by managing invoice processing, vendor payments, and expense reporting. This position ensures timely and accurate payment processing while adhering to company policies and maintaining strong relationships with vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and verify a high volume of invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Review and reconcile vendor statements, promptly addressing any discrepancies.
- Prepare and execute payments, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers, while maintaining proper documentation.
- Assist in month-end closing activities, including accruals and reconciliations for accounts payable.
- Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve payment or billing issues in a professional and timely manner.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proper coding and approval of invoices.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of financial transactions and vendor information.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and audit compliance.
- Support the Accounts Payable Manager with special projects as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
- 1–2 years of experience in accounts payable or a related accounting role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of general accounting principles and practices.
