Job Summary:
GridHawk is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Director of Fleet & Equipment to oversee the procurement, operation, and maintenance of our fleet, equipment, and supplies. This role requires a strategic thinker with expertise in fleet optimization and equipment and supplies procurement to support operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
The Fleet & Equipment Manager will oversee a team of four and collaborate with the CFO to manage vehicle lifecycles, ensure regulatory compliance, and implement preventive maintenance programs. They will manage vendor relationships and lead initiatives to improve fleet utilization and procurement efficiency. Additionally, this role encompasses equipment and supply management to support the organization's field operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, analytical, and organizational skills, with a proven ability to enhance performance and drive operational success.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
a. Work with CFO to select, purchase, maintain, and dispose of vehicles based on operational and budget requirements.
b. Analyze performance metrics and generate improvement-focused reports. Develop strategies to improve fleet utilization, reduce fuel consumption, and optimize vehicle deployment.
c. Build and maintain relationships with auto dealers to ensure timely procurement.
d. Work with our fleet management company to manage fleet repairs and implement preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend vehicle lifespans.
e. Manage fleet budgets, track expenses, forecast needs, and control costs.
f. Create and deliver training programs for fleet operations, safety standards, and operational best practices.
g. Ensure compliance with DOT and other local, state, and federal regulations.
h. Manage a team of four direct reports in operations and procurement.
a. Manage the acquisition, spare inventory, repair, and disposal of equipment used in utility locating
b. Build and maintain relationships with vendors to decrease procurement costs.
a. Manage the procurement of field supplies to improve purchasing efficiencies.

- Other duties as needed and assigned by higher level managers.
Qualifications / Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years in fleet management, logistics, or transportation with strong experience in procurement.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
- Proficiency in GPS/telematics systems, fleet management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience in data analysis for fleet performance, cost control, and optimization.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team, ensuring safety, performance, and compliance.
- Familiarity with DOT regulations, vehicle maintenance standards, and safety compliance.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment with urgency.
- Self-organized, proactive, and excellent in planning.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) to create reports, track fleet data, and present information clearly to leadership and teams.
- Pass a Background screening (no violations within the last 5 years)

Compensation: $130K to $140K
- Salary and Bonus is negotiable based on experience.
