Program Overview:
NIH’s Center for Information Technology (“CIT”) UCC Services is responsible for delivering the functional capabilities for digital identity, credential, and access management services at NIH. These services ensure a myriad of business functions for more than 36,000 staff at NIH facilities, more than 200,000 grantees and research contractors at institutions funded by NIH, and millions of people worldwide who need access to NIH IT systems. These services provide foundational infrastructure that enables mission-critical business functions for all NIH Institutes and Centers (IC) and their business partners. CIT IAM Services works with representatives from across the NIH enterprise to design, develop, test, implement, operate, maintain, modernize, enhance, and manage the identity, credential, and access management services that are required to support the NIH mission.
The Teams Voice Engineer is responsible for provisioning, troubleshooting, supporting, and managing advanced voice communication systems, including VoIP, unified messaging, and teleconferencing. This role involves providing Tier 2 and 3 support for enterprise voice networks.
Responsibilities:
- Support, deploy, and manage voice communication systems such as VoIP, unified messaging, and teleconferencing.
- Provide Tier 2 and 3 support for MS Teams enterprise voice networks.
- Set up and configure Microsoft Teams Phone with PSTN via Direct Routing.
- Manage Teams-certified devices, audio, and video conferencing, and oversee voice migration.
- Collaborate with telephony providers and third-party vendors to optimize advanced voice features in Microsoft Teams.
- Coordinate with administrators across various workloads, including networking, identity, licensing, security, and compliance.
- Develop comprehensive documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures for voice networks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues related to routing, quality, capacity, and security of voice systems.
- Work with network and systems engineers to ensure the availability, reliability, and scalability of voice systems.
- Plan and execute system upgrades and migrations.
- Stay updated on the latest voice communication technologies and industry trends.
Desired Qualifications:
- 3+ years of relevant experience
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams Administrator Associate certification or equivalent experience
- In-depth knowledge of Teams and Microsoft 365 voice features
- Teams Administrator
- Teams Support Engineer
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience working with multiple sub-teams
- Demonstrated experience delivering meaningful results while working independently with minimal supervision and guidance
