The Controls Engineer is an Individual contributor with recognized expertise responsible for tasks and work you're doing throughout the entire vehicle development lifecycle including requirements definition, systems design and implementation, testing, and problem resolution.
What You’ll Do:
- Configure, program, test and troubleshoot PLC based control systems and associated components
- Electrical troubleshooting and testing of controls systems, control panels, and associated equipment
- Diagnose and correct deficiencies in manufacturing processes and equipment
- Develop innovative solutions
- Support and actively interact with manufacturing, maintenance, and quality groups
- Continuously improve quality, cost, responsiveness & safety
Key Skills and Abilities (Minimum Requirements):
- Bachelor's Degree with a major in electrical or mechatronics engineering, or equivalent automation controls engineering experience
- Proficiency in industrial networking protocols – Profibus, Profinet, TCP/IP and EthernetIP
- HMI – Siemens TIA Portal and Rockwell FactoryTalk View
- PLC – Rockwell ControlLogix and/or Siemens 1500 families
- Servo drive systems – Siemens G120 and S120 families, and Rockwell Powerflex and Kinetix
- This position will require overtime and off-shift production support
What Gives You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
- 4+ years of Controls experience in a Manufacturing environment
- Vision Cameras (Matrox and Keyence)
- Siemens PLC experience
- Fanuc Robot Programming experience
