In this pivotal role, you will act as the face of our clinic, ensuring every patient interaction is welcoming, efficient, and professional. From managing patient demographic and insurance data to facilitating communication with our clinical and billing teams, you'll play a key role in creating an organized, patient-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Interaction: Greet patients warmly, ensure smooth check-in/check-out processes, and provide a high level of hospitality throughout their visit.
- Data Management: Accurately input and maintain patient demographics, insurance information, and financial data in our online system.
- Financial Duties: Collect co-pays, balances, and process payments based on account information and insurance estimates.
- Collaboration: Maintain open communication with clinical and billing teams, acting as a liaison to ensure seamless patient navigation and care.
- Scheduling: Efficiently manage patient bookings, including follow-up appointments, reminder calls, and notifications to the clinical team about patient arrivals.
- Patient Advocacy: Provide clear guidance to patients on follow-up steps, insurance details, and address any questions or concerns with professionalism and empathy.
General Qualifications
We’re seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented professional with the following:
- Experience: Previous experience in a medical office environment required. Eligibility and benefits experience, with the ability to generate estimates, is a must.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems, strong computer and typing skills, and comfort with scheduling software.
- Communication: Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with an ability to handle sensitive patient interactions with professionalism.
- Teamwork: A collaborative mindset, ability to follow directions, and eagerness to learn and grow within the role.
- Professionalism: A polished and positive attitude to maximize quality patient care, with excellent phone and organizational skills.
- Problem Solving: The ability to address issues effectively, resolve conflicts, and advocate for patients from diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge: A basic understanding of HIPAA, OSHA, billing, insurance (referrals, authorizations, eligibility, deductibles, co-pays, out-of-pocket expenses), and the importance of compliance in a clinical setting.
- Bilingual Ability (Preferred): Multilingual skills are highly valued.
