Job Summary and Qualifications
The Clinical Manager is a registered nurse who reports to the Director of Emergency & Trauma Services and is responsible and accountable for planning, organizing, developing, and directing the daily operations of the nursing department. The Clinical Manager assures that the highest quality of care is provided in accordance with current Federal, State, and local standards, as well as other regulations that govern Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center. The Clinical Manager will also act as the Emergency Department RN Educator and is responsible for determining the educational needs of the nursing staff in the emergency setting, serving as a resource person, and providing guidance to other licensed and non-licensed personnel. This role will assist with ongoing competencies assist with hospital wide educational activities as determined by the Director of Emergency Department with Director of Education.
- You will demonstrate knowledge of regulatory standards and hospital or department policies related to your area of responsibility.
- You will inform the Director of Emergency & Trauma Services and/or Chief Operating Officer regarding patient care issues and directs resolution.
- You will generate evaluation of care delivery system to assess for high quality, efficient, and timely care and compare to benchmark standards, making recommendations for improvement as indicated.
- You will collaborate with the Director of the Emergency & Trauma Services, Emergency Trauma Manager, Prehospital Care Manager and Chief Operating Officer, and nursing staff to identify learning needs, develop a strategic plan for education activities and implement the plan in order to enhance professional growth and the professional nursing care of our patients.
- You will demonstrate ability to drive organizational or departmental initiatives to effect change resulting in achievement of organizational or departmental goals.
What qualifications you will need:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Current RN license by the Board of Nurse Examiners State of California
- Current ACLS, BCLS, PALS, and TNCC certification
- Assaultive Behavior Management, Mobile Intensive Care Nurse (MICN), and NIH Stroke Scale Certification
- Minimum of one year experience in specialty. Three years experience preferred.
- Supervisory experience with demonstrated leadership aptitude, competency, and qualities.
