Position Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Design Project Engineer with extensive experience in Land Development to join our team. In this role, you will take the lead in designing, managing, and executing complex projects from inception through completion. You will leverage your expertise to drive technical excellence, mentor junior staff, ensure quality assurance, and support the successful delivery of our land development projects.

Key Responsibilities
· Expert Leadership: Serve as the technical lead for all aspects of land development, including report writing, site plan design, stormwater drainage systems, grading plans, and comprehensive due diligence/site analysis reports. Provide expert guidance to internal and external stakeholders.
· Technical Excellence: Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to efficiently review and complete detailed design assignments, maintaining Wilkinson Design Group’s high engineering standards. Ensure that designs are accurate, cost-effective, and in line with client expectations.
· Mentorship: Foster the professional development of junior engineers by offering guidance on technical queries related to land development projects. Act as a mentor, helping them grow their knowledge and skills within the industry.
· Quality Assurance: Lead quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) processes to ensure that all project deliverables meet rigorous technical standards and comply with client and regulatory requirements.
· Compliance & Review: Review, approve, and seal project documents to ensure full compliance with relevant engineering codes and standards. Analyze and interpret project survey data, including ALTA Surveys, legal descriptions, easement documents, and other related site conditions.
· Adaptability: Manage necessary revisions to engineering plans as requested by municipal agencies, clients, or other stakeholders. Ensure all modifications align with project requirements and deadlines.
· Effective Communication: Collaborate closely with Project Managers and Team Leaders to track project workflow and ensure that timelines, budgets, and chargeability goals are met. Facilitate clear communication with clients and municipal officials throughout the project lifecycle.
· Financial Contribution: Support the team in achieving financial targets by ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality projects within budget and on time. Contribute to cost-effective engineering solutions and overall project profitability.
Required Qualifications
· Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
· Professional Certification: Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
· Industry Experience: Minimum of 8+ years of hands-on experience in residential and commercial land development projects.
· Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other relevant design software. Strong knowledge of grading, drainage, and stormwater management design.
· Project Leadership: Proven ability to manage complex land development projects from concept through construction, including coordination with clients, consultants, and regulatory agencies.
· Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to convey technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
· Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify, analyze, and solve engineering challenges while balancing project constraints.
· Team-Oriented: A collaborative mindset with experience mentoring junior staff and leading project teams.
