TITLE: Engineering Tech/EIT 1
REPORTS TO: Senior Engineer/Idaho Regional Manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Civil Engineering Degree or Engineering Technician Education with job experience in related fields, and meet the requirements listed below
· Background or experience in agriculture mandatory
· Hands-on field working ability
· Foresight, analysis and logic, systematic and orderly planning, and attention to detail
· Excellent oral, written, and other communication
· Ability to work independently or as a team
· Client-focused, professional, and confident individual
· Positive, results-oriented attitude
· AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D
· HEC-RAS preferred but not required
· Excel
HOURLY RATE: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour DOE
SUMMARY
The Engineering Tech/EIT I will be capable of handling multiple projects within a fast-paced environment and be able to develop and maintain positive working relationships with all contacts both inside and outside the company. It is expected the Engineering Tech/EIT I will achieve results with minimal supervision and absence of day-to-day guidance. This position is ideal for an aspiring engineer or a motivated individual with an engineering degree or background.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Engineering Tech/EIT I position is responsible for the following tasks, including, but not limited to:
· Working closely with senior design engineers
· Designing a variety of engineered systems (drainage, water, and waste systems)
· Develop plans and specifications
· City, county, state permitting and application development.
· Develop written technical reports
· Completing and reviewing calculations
· Preparing engineering cost opinions
· Field surveys
· Written and verbal communication with state and local agencies for both planning and regulatory projects
· Performing on-site materials testing
· Client communication
· Other duties as assigned
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:
· Storm / Sanitary sewer drainage
· Grading plans
· Construction detail drawings
· Project/construction specifications
· Knowledge of surveying
· Environmental engineering experience helpful
· Construction observation
· Communication and familiarity with government entities
· Soil Testing/Septic
· Capable of performing fieldwork, including pond liner testing and drill rig operations
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to work in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, snow, rain) for extended periods of time and stand for long periods of time. This work requires standing on uneven terrain. Employees must also be able to and lift and move a minimum of 30 lbs., sit, walk, talk, hear, and reach with hands or arms. Hand eye coordination is necessary to operate computers and other office equipment as required. The employee is also required to kneel, crouch, and bend.
