This job is part of the Critical and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for technical maintenance services in critical client environments.
About the role:
The Sr Refrigeration Field Service Engineer, under direct and indirect supervision, supports the operations of the Service Department both in the field and occasionally in the shop, in service, repair, calibration, and preventive maintenance of refrigerated (and some non-refrigerated) scientific equipment including freezers, refrigerators, lyophilizers, vacuum pumps, and other types of equipment..
Assists with customer service needs and work order management. Directly reports to the Area Service Supervisor. Works closely with fellow technicians, Administrative Staff, and Project Managers.
Primary work focus: meeting customer service needs.

Field Responsibilities:
- The incumbent is required to perform repairs, preventative maintenance, installations, and shop infrastructure work as needed.
- Assist other technicians and staff as needed. Work may include pick-up and delivery of equipment, field service, shop service/repairs, calibration, and preventative maintenance of refrigerated (and some non-refrigerated) scientific equipment including freezers, refrigerators, lyophilizers, vacuum pumps, and other types of equipment.
- Provide support for servicing customers’ specialty equipment in shop.
- May be required to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime and “on-call” as needed.

What you'll need:
- 5+ years’ experience in scientific or specialized refrigeration, sterilization or HVAC.
- Certification in HVAC or Refrigeration strongly preferred
- Prior supervision experience in scientific or specialized refrigeration, sterilization or HVAC preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and internet functions is required; accounting and construction software packages preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to customers, vendors and managers via phone and in person.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk and listen; using hands to type. The employee is often required to stand, reach with hands and arms, climb ladders and stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl and walk on concrete surfaces. The employee may occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to ninety (90) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus. Prosthetic or mechanical substitutes for many of the above tasks are acceptable.
