Job Title – Data Verification Operator

Hours of Operation: 9 am to 5:30 pm
The primary function of this position is to input document data from Optical Character Recognition information received through the image processing of paper documents using high-speed data entry systems. Operate data processing peripheral equipment (e.g. keyboard, video terminals, and printers).
- Receive document images from the high-speed scanning process and compare/verify captured information to the document image using a split screen video terminal (monitor).
- Key information from documents and determine pay amounts/codes.
- Electronically search for and inspect attached images.
- Rely upon experience/judgment, in conjunction with applying documented procedures, to solve problems.
- Verify the work of other Data Verification Operators as required.
- Quality control inspection of images to ensure image clarity.
- Maintain knowledge of BCBSM policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school graduate or GED equivalent is required.
- Good analytical, judgment, verbal and written communication skills.
- Good PC skills using windows-based programs.
- Keyboard skills of 10,000 net keystrokes per hour with 95% accuracy required.
- Ability to comprehend, copy records and record figures accurately without error.
- Ability to perform manual functions repeatedly on data entry equipment and quickly analyze comparative data to identify discrepancies.
