HDR is looking for a GIS Technician/Project Administrator to join our team developing and implementing project administration and geospatial solutions for federal clients and projects. Duties include working in a professional environment with a team of engineers, planners and other GIS professionals. The ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds, both technical and non-technical, is required. Ideal candidates will have a solid understanding of Project Administration and GIS and expertise with Esri software. We are interested in someone who is passionate, self-motivated, and has a strong desire to research, learn, and grow as a professional; someone who can appropriately apply technology to solve problems and provide services to our clients. Successful candidates will be able to work with in a team environment and provide quality data and technical services to our clients.
Primary Responsibilities
In the role of GIS Technician, we'll count on you to
- Perform data input and editing of spatial and tabular data.
- Conduct simple spatial analyses and prepare maps using ArcGIS or other applicable GIS software.
- Perform field data collection as needed using mobile GIS/GPS equipment.
- Follow documented technical procedures.
- Supporting Cost Proposals
- Assisting with Project Initiation and documentation
- Project Setup
- WBS Development and Tracking
- Entering Project Cost Forecasts
- Facilitating Project Reviews
- Supporting/Developing Project Review Forms
- Risk Register Generation
- Monitoring Project Costs
- Managing Project Data
- Submitting Procurement Requests for Subcontracts
- Assisting in Subcontractor Document control and management
- Updating Projects’ Physical Percent Complete
- Collaborating with the Project Accountant for monthly invoicing
- Assisting with Project Close-out and documentation
- Supporting Project Manager and project team as needed
- Supporting Sr. Accountant
- Working with HDRs Tax and Insurance departments
- Assisting with tax and insurance reporting as needed
- Project Closeout tasks
- Other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree or certifications / training in Geography, Geospatial Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry

Required Qualifications
- Associates degree in Geography, Planning, Engineering, Natural Science or closely related field, or a combination of education and relevant experience
- Practical experience with editing, database development, and map production in ArcGIS
- Experienced with Microsoft 365 Apps
- Requires attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work with a team
- Good written and oral communication skills a plus
