The Overhead Door Company of Bangor™ is currently seeking full-time Overhead Door Technicians.
What we do:
We install and service garage doors of all types both residential and commercial. With a very large service territory we cover from south of Bangor to the Canadian border and Down East. It’s a large area of responsibility and with that we are always looking for quality employees to join our team. We’ve been here for a very long time and built a reputation of trust and quality.
Over the past 2 years we’ve experienced a rapid change in our technical workforce. We are continually evolving to meet not only the needs of our technician’s professional development but also a greater work/home balance. As we continue to learn we would like to provide some basic guidelines for the employee we’re looking for.
Our start time in the morning is 7:00am. It’s not super early but we need to see you here on time so we can review your days’ work or answer questions you may have. If you’re not an early riser or may struggle to be here on time, please consider that before applying. Our business is schedule driven with our customers having arrival time expectations that must be met, and in most cases, you’ll also have a teammate relying on you.
A clean driving record. To advance and excel with us you’ll need to have the ability to operate one of our company vehicles. We submit all information to our insurance carrier for final review and if they deem you too much of a risk we may have to go in a different direction. Having an up-front conversation in your interview can help guide us.
Our commitment to a positive work culture is the bedrock of who we are. We are committed to providing an environment where employees enjoy their work and can also find camaraderie and acceptance. In an interview we will be discussing your ability to adapt to and successfully join a team. Please be prepared to provide examples in your work history where you have accomplished this.
We work outside in a state has a dramatic change in seasons. Working outside in Maine means hot, hot days and very cold ones too. We will assist you with provisions and guidance on proper attire especially in the winter months so you can be comfortable in the cold weather.
We work on ladders and mechanical lifts, this is unavoidable. If you have any discomfort working at heights, you probably shouldn’t apply.
We are safety focused culture and require all employees to follow a strict set of policies.
Those examples are a pretty good guide as to what our expectations are for you. If you have some mechanical ability, a clean driving record, want a Monday-Friday daytime schedule, learn a desirable trade, prefer a work environment with virtually no drama, enjoy the outdoors, and a 7:00am start time doesn’t scare you then we want to talk to you! In the interview we can explain in far greater detail what we are all about. In the meantime, we have provided a short list of company benefits below for your review.
