The Opportunity:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Design Coordinator/Manager – Maritime to join one of Australia's most talented and respected engineering teams. Based in our Perth office, you will play a key role in winning, designing, and planning small- and large-scale, multi-discipline maritime facilities, with a particular focus on commercial maritime infrastructure and Port Authorities.

In this role, you will lead or support large, multidisciplinary engineering projects, coordinating across various disciplines while managing complex and often conflicting project requirements. Balancing stakeholder needs, you will take a proactive approach to ensuring clear and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.

You will also play an integral role in maritime business development in Western Australia, fostering market relationships, providing specialist technical advice, and supporting the preparation of proposals. Ideally, you will have a holistic understanding of the maritime market and Port Operations, enabling you to engage in early pursuit positioning and collaborate with Market Directors, Industry Leads, and Discipline Managers.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to maritime projects, including general cargo facilities, oil & gas, and green energy, as well as projects across other sectors such as bridges, water, transport, and infrastructure.

You will be responsible for delivering fit-for-purpose solutions for our clients, from feasibility studies to design and construction phase services. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to lead and develop a team of engineers and support staff who are committed to delivering the best outcomes for our clients.

Who Are You?

The below skills and experience is preferred:

  • Eligible for a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC)

  • Extensive professional experience in infrastructure sector designing &/or delivering Maritime projects.

  • Demonstrated project management/coordination experience,.

  • Demonstrated proposal preparation/support experience along with the ability to write clearly and fluently about technical subjects or project delivery methodologies.

  • Experience working with the Martime sector.

  • Familiarity with Port Operations and Asset Management.

  • Familiarity with Port Planning.

  • Some familiarity with maritime (Australian or other) design codes and guidelines in Australia and internationally

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.

  • Eligible for Chartered Professional Membership and/or RPEQ/RPEV accreditation, or ability to apply within an agreed timeframe.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage diverse stakeholders and build effective project teams.

  • Commercial acumen.
