KBR is seeking a Junior Sustainment Test and Evaluation Engineer to support a MILSATCOM Program Management Office (PMO) within the US Space Force’s (USSF), Space Systems Command (SSC) at Peterson Space Force Base (PSFB), CO. We are looking for an innovative, creative, and highly motivated individual to provide test and evaluation and terminal operations on a diverse set of strategic and tactical MILSATCOM systems and infrastructure.
KBR (formerly LinQuest) is the prime contractor on the MSEIT contract. By applying to this position, you are in consideration for KBR employment. However, you also have the option to be hired by one of our subcontractor teammates.
The MILSATCOM Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (MSEIT) effort provides leading edge Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) for the Air Force’s Space and Missiles System Center. We support the Air Force’s acquisition of state of the art Military Satellite Communications systems, providing global secure, survivable, and protected communications for our nation’s warfighters. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, plan, coordinate, execute testing and provide terminal operations support on the Family of Beyond Line-of-Sight Terminals (FAB-T), Mission Planning Subsystem (MPSS), Air Force Command Post Terminal (AFCPT), Time Distribution Subsystem Pre Processor (TDSPP), Milstar Messaging System (MMS), Global Broadcast Service (GBS), Ground Multi-band Terminal (GMT), various other systems, subsystems and MILSATCOM devices
- Provide engineering and technician-level support for each of the above systems, including integration, communication circuit troubleshooting, and system-level anomaly resolution
- Identify and isolate software or hardware defects to evaluate/assess system modifications for shortfalls or interoperability issues and provide technical assessments to the client with regards to the modifications
- Author and deliver technical documentation including test plans, test procedures, system configuration diagrams, engineering studies, technical white papers, and test reports
- Travel: approximately 10%

Qualifications:
Required:
- Ability to obtain a DoD SECRET Security Clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science, or equivalent technical discipline
- Ability to understand DoD/USAF test processes and documentation
- Ability to understand working with military or DoD civilian clients and managing professional relationships
- Ability to understand MILSATCOM equipment and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of DoD mission system sustainment
- Must be a motivated, self-starter capable of autonomous on-the-job learning/improvement
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent written, verbal communications and presentation skills
Desired:
- International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE), Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) certification or higher
- Project Management Institute (PMI), Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Demonstrated ability to produce technical Statements of Work (SOW), Bill of Materials
- Operational Test experience supporting a DoD Operational Test Agency or Organization Specific experience operating or maintaining the following: MPSS, FAB-T, AFCPT, TDSPP, MMS, GMT, GBS Receive Suites, cryptographic equipment (e.g., KIV-7M, ANDVT, KGV-11, KG-250), or related infrastructure and/or support equipment
This position is entry-level up to 3 years of experience.
Basic Compensation: $70,000-$90,000 in Colorado
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
