Senior Radar Processing Engineer

KBR’s National Security Solutions team provides high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to our customers in the intelligence and national security communities. In this position, your work will have a profound impact on the country’s most critical role – protecting our national security. The selected candidate will support funded projects involving radar processing and the application of estimation and detection theory to novel problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply Expertise: Apply estimation, detection, tracking, and classification expertise to develop solutions to urgent and important problems in the radar systems domain
  • Develop Algorithms: Develop new estimation-theoretic algorithms and implement them in software (MATLAB®, Python)
  • Enhance Code: Enhance and extend existing code bases to process data from new sensor systems
  • Brief Customers: Prepare and present briefings to current and prospective customers
  • Travel: Work with a flexible schedule and be willing to travel to accommodate customer priorities

Work Environment:

  • Location: On-Site
  • Travel Requirements: Frequent 50%+
  • Working Hours: Flexible

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Clearance: Active TOP SECRET security clearance
  • Education: Master’s degree and at least five years’ experience, or PhD degree in electrical engineering, mathematics, or physics
  • Experience: Programming experience in MATLAB® & Python
  • Work Style: Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills

Desired:

  • Radar Experience: Understanding of and experience with radar systems and processing
  • Customer Interaction Skills: Ability to effectively interact with customers to convey results of work and develop new projects
