Spectrolab, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company’s Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) business unit has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Semiconductor Assembler(Level B) to join our dynamic team in Sylmar, California.

Spectrolab is the world’s leading merchant supplier of the highest efficiency multijunction solar cells for spacecraft power systems, with proven reliability drawn from 65 years of space heritage. Spectrolab’s state-of-the-art space solar cells and panels power satellites in Earth’s orbit, as well as the International Space Station.

Position Responsibilities:

• Performs routine production assembly operations on structural and mechanical assemblies, subassemblies and aircraft systems, equipment and accessories using manual operations.
• Performs such processes necessary for the fabrication and production of Solar Cells, including wiring processes, soldering, welding, adhesive mixing and applications, component bonding and abrading of substrates.

This position is for 2nd shift.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• More than 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
• Ability to read and interpret system prints and schematics.
• Experience soldering and terminating wiring.
• Basic computer experience and competency.
• Capable of lifting 20lbs or more on a frequent basis.
• Experience in the use of chemicals for build preparation.
• Experience with MRP data applications for closure of work completed.
• Experience with Stamp Warranty.
• Experience using shop processes to include Foreign Object Damage/Debris (FOD) prevention, material handling, safety, and calibration requirements.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Minimum of High School Diploma or GED.
• More than 1 year of experience in wire stripping, crimping, soldering and welding.
• Experience in J-STD-001 Soldering.

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate).

Travel:

Position may require travel up to 5% of the time.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $50,150 - $67,850
