What does a successful Data Center Hardware Technician (overnights) do at Fiserv?
In this role you will provide world class onsite data center support for Fiserv’s systems engineers, architects and supporting vendors. Perform equipment installs, cabling, and administrative support in accordance with Fiserv datacenter standards. This role will also provide value by composing documentation and regular process updates based on manager and director feedback.
What you will do:
- Physically rack and stack servers and network equipment according to layout diagrams and specifications
- Perform cable installations, including routing, terminating, and managing structured cabling systems
- Install and maintain data servers and network equipment
- Support vendors and engineers with upgrades, including CPU’s, memory and network cables
- Perform routine production and non-production administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of IT hardware as well as provide escalation level support to remote offices
- Work with data center specific trade tools
- Maintain detailed records of installations, configurations, and maintenance activities
- Train on dayshift before moving to your regular shift which will be 9pm-7am Wednesday-Saturday
What you will need to have:
- 4+ years of an equivalent combination of educational background, related experience and/or military experience
- Highschool diploma or equivalent
What would be great to have:
- DCCA or other industry recognized data center certification
- ITIL 4 Certification
- BICSI Installer 1 Certification
- CompTIA A+ Certification
- Experience with Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Teams and SharePoint)
- Associate's degree in computer networking or a similar field
Important info about this role:
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds and climb ladders while working at heights of 6 to 12 feet and stand on your feet for the majority of your shift
- Occasional local travel of up to 10% may be required
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed to support 24/7 data center operations
