Work Arrangement:
Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. This position requires an employee to be onsite 3 times per week . Other than the 3 times per week on site, the employee’s role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired.
This job is not eligible for relocation benefits. Any relocation costs would be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

The Role:
The WMS Implementation Analysts will partner with Implementation Lead as well as Global cross-functional organizations (e.g. Manufacturing and Launch, GPSC) to understand and document business processes, business needs, and industry best practices in warehouse management, manufacturing line sequencing and lean materials management. The focus of the role will be to understand, define and document or revise a combination of lean best practices and other continuous improvement solutions involving warehouse management and movement and flow of materials to the manufacturing lines in the most flexible and effective manner. This area is strategic to GM’s ability to get more flexibility from existing Manufacturing plants and manufacturing lines.
Role requires a high-level of customer focus and deep business knowledge to ensure the appropriate business processes are clearly defined, documented and delivered at or above expectations. Strong oral and written communication skills are required, with proven ability to communicate and build relationships cross-functionally.
This role requires deep knowledge of material management processes around the globe and industry best practices.
What You'll Do: (Responsibilities):
- Conduct “What if” studies and simulation
- Standardize comprehensive user acceptance testing/training plans
- Support plants and suppliers in achieving GM1724 Label Compliance (i.e. 2D Barcode data elements)
- Manages the Master Dot process and promotes continuous improvement toward standardized project planning process
- Catalyst to document specific WMS plant requirements through various strategies including leading requirement workshops, leveraging existing GM material and production floor systems
- Seeks formal buyoff of documented requirements
- Drive WMS standardized processes, recognizing and analyzing non-standard requirements. Escalating disputes promptly
- Continuous improvement toward standardized processes
- Works together with plant project team developing and executing an End User Training (EUT) plan
- Coordinates the operational planning for Inventory Conversion, and Go Live
- Training of Plant WMS Control Room Leads and Analysts
- Structure and standardize how to extract data from WMS and transform them into standardized Key Performance Metrics
- Supports the implementation of GMS Principles in the WMS process design
- Capture Lessons learned throughout all stages of the project
- Performs other related duties as assigned
