About this role:Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Business Execution Consultant to support Policy, Audit and Issue Management activities within the CIB Model Risk Governance team. The Consultant's primary responsibility will be to coordinate with model owner, developers, and key stakeholders to support audit and testing activities. This role will have enterprise-wide exposure to key stakeholders within internal / external audit and testing groups. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Model Risk Management Policy and supporting supervisory guidance (e.g. SR 11-7, SR15-18.), as well as outstanding leadership skills and the proven ability to partner with cross-functional stakeholders, as well fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
In this role, you will:- Provide guidance and participate in walkthroughs of significant processes.
- Review and challenge documentation of control deficiencies, including assessing root cause, unmitigated impact, and the sustainability of corrective actions.
- Create and deliver reporting on status of audits, control testing and Issues to leadership.
- Build relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders in the applicable line of business functions for Audit, Testing and Issue Management.
- Lead special projects relate policy and/or emerging control matters impacting CIB Model Governance.
- Act as a change agent for continual improvement of the internal control environment.
- Contribute as a Subject Matter Expert on model risk policy for policy reviews gap assessments and control level requirements.
- Perform assessments through fact finding and data requiring creative approaches to solving complex governance/policy compliance/process issues and develop appropriate solutions or recommendations.
- Work with audit and the line of business to coordinate annual audit activities, including the setup-up of meetings, gathering evidence and review request responses.
- Participate in audits in accordance with Wells Fargo Internal Audit policy and manage re-occurring meetings with cross-functional stakeholders including frontline, second line, audit, and key model stakeholders, including agenda setting.
- Monitor audit issues that impact model governance activities, to ensure issue activities are up to date and accurate.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement initiatives to optimize operational effectiveness and efficiencies.
Required Qualifications, US:- 5+ years of Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:- Experience in independent risk management, governance, or process driven roles in Capital Markets.
- Familiarity with Capital Markets such as FX, Structured Products, Equity Markets and CRE (Commercial Real Estate)
- Experience in audit coordination, key review, and testing
- Model / Model Governance, audit/testing, and project management experience
- Experience with Issue Validation and Remediation
- Experience in coaching staff to ensure resolution of complex issues where expertise is required to interpret and administer policies, guidelines or processes
- Subject matter expertise in Model Risk Management policy and its implementation
- Ability to articulate issues, risks, and proposed solutions to various levels of staff and management
- Experience leading efforts/projects teams with multiple stakeholder groups
- Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision in a structured environment
- Ability to make timely and independent judgment decisions while working in a fast-paced and results-driven environment
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
- Strong finance, risk or compliance background
