Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a full-time Early Career Program Quality Engineer Associate. In this role, you will work as a Quality Engineer supporting the Orion Human Space Flight program at Kennedy Space Center ensuring the reprocessing, refurbishment and testing of all reuse hardware meets quality requirements; Work with the experienced Quality Engineering team to develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished material products and review and approve of Drawing Problem Reports, Changes Task, Test Procedure reviews, manufacturing work instructions reviews and PO closure activities.
The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of manufacturing processes and engineering documentation, the ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications, and Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts product quality tests, performs statistical analysis to assess products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline (Mechanical, electrical, aerospace, or other engineering/sciences degree)
- Work or classroom experience with manufacturing processes and engineering documentation
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Ability to obtain Public Trust security clearance and US Citizenship required.
- The ability to work an evolving shift schedule that will include weekend and off-shift hours, as required to support program objectives.
- Ability to develop performance metrics using Microsoft Excel and take appropriate action
Desired Skills:
• Knowledge of Quality Systems and Processes
• Demonstrated knowledge of non-conformance handling and disposition.
• Experience with human spaceflight NASA/DCMA customers
• Experience with working in an Assembly, Test, and Launch Operations (ATLO) and Production environment
• Experience in Design/Test Readiness/Manufacturing Readiness Reviews
• Certified in lean, six-sigma quality engineering methodologies and root cause corrective action training/certification
• ASQE certified

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
