About this role:Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Research Consultant to work within Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) to perform research and analysis to support business enablement and strategy projects and initiatives across various lines of business. This role encompasses two primary functions. Distribution of time across each will vary depending on changing business needs. In this role, you will:
1. Participate on a centralized team of Research Consultants and Analysts responsible for leveraging third-party market data research in search of relevant content to support business enablement and strategic development efforts across the enterprise; with great emphasis on Corporate & Investment Banking and Commercial Banking as they seek to:
- Understand their clients (i.e., credit/risk assessments, prospecting, market intelligence, relationship & portfolio management, public information books - PIBS)
- Pitch engagements or compete for business (i.e., preparation and pitchbooks)
- Execute deals/transactions (i.e., confidential information memorandums, prospectuses, lender's presentations, advisory, hedges, etc.)
2. Perform secondary research analysis, edit/publish newsletters, and create/compose other forms of value-added content. May independently conduct small-to-medium scale research projects of moderate complexity that are either recurring (tracking) or new/custom, including gathering and analyzing of data (i.e., benchmarking), identifying trends, and producing reports and periodic newsletters
Additional Responsibilities:- Ensure adherence to compliance and legal regulations and policies on all projects managed
- Utilize a variety of online resources to help fulfill all research needs and will serve as a senior member of the team. Examples of complex research requests include industry & market research, M&A data analytics, real estate research, country research, and topical research/studies, all on a global scale
- Support the training, growth and development of junior members of the team (e.g., Research Analysts)
- Regularly consult with clients on clarifying, fine-tuning or narrowing requests to help manage expectations and improve search results. A typical day will consist of reviewing requests, sourcing & screening information, distributing material in a time sensitive manner and/or the fulfillment of special research projects
Required Qualifications:- 4+ years of Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:- Master of Research, MBA, or MLIS
- Knowledge of online sources including but not limited to S&P, Moody's, MergerMarket, Refinitiv, Frost & Sullivan, LexisNexis, CoStar, Euromonitor, and Dunn & Bradstreet
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Demonstrated experience with internet sourcing and various web browsers used for internet searches
- 4+ years of experience performing research in a multinational corporate; or exposure to investment banking, and/or market data
- Experience in researching across a broad range of industries and entities, including consumer products; energy; financial institutions; technology; financial sponsors; healthcare; industrial growth; media & telecom; and private equity with successful results
- Broad knowledge of capital markets deal execution process and standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple competing tasks and demands, provide high levels of customer service and maintain a professional demeanor
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a diverse range of assignments and projects with high efficiency, yet thorough attention to detail and follow through
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment
- Ability to work proactively, and demonstrate responsibility, initiative, and accountability
- 1+ year of project management experience
Job Expectations:- Ability to work outside of normal business hours as needed
- Training Period (3-6 months): 9-to-10-hour blocks between 7am - 9pm ET, Monday - Friday; Post Training: TBD
